Position (1): Research Fellow

• Collect data; prepare project documents, proposals and reports in Thai and English;

1. Hold a Master's Degree in Environmental Studies, International Development, Environmental Science, Political Science or other related field for project management from an English speaking country;

5. Computer literate (MS Office);

Job Descriptions and Responsibilities :

• Manage the project
• Coordinate all Stakeholders involved in the project includind TISI, governmental and business sectors, associations, and experts from various fields.
• Collect relevant data and information from Technical Subcommittees, references and other sources. Based on information collected, analyze date and prepare technical reports.
• Organize seminars and meetings, marketing the scheme, visiting factories, handing administrative and logistics works related to the project, and setting follow-up evaluation activities.
• Report to the Senior Director in charge.

Key Qualifications:

• Master Degree or above in the field of Environmental science, Environmental engineering or other related field;
• Extensive experience at least 5 years related to Environmental projects, Environmental management, Assessment, Life Cycle Assessment;
• Past experiences in Project management
• Past related training such as ISO9000, ISO14000, TIS18001, ISO17025 or ISO Guide 65 or ISO17020;
• Excellent proficiency with MS Office (especially MS Word and Excel);
• Excellent report writing and communication skills in English;
• Ability to collect and analyze scientific data;
• Self-motivated, reliable, punctual with good interpersonal skills and a team player;
• Able to work under pressure and meet various deadlines;

Position (1): Project Manager

The project “Promoting renewable energy in Northern Thailand” is a project with duration of 5 years (2010 – 2015), funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and aimed at overcoming barriers that prevent widespread and sustainable utilization of Renewable Energy Technologies for the provision of energy services in rural areas in Northern Thailand. The project will be implemented in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Tak province.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for the implementation of the project, including mobilization of all project inputs, supervision of project staff, consultants and oversight of sub-contractors.

Key Qualifications:

• A Master degree or above in the field of management, administration, environment or any related field with a strong background in Energy or Renewable Energy Technologies;
• Minimum of 8 years experience in management of large national and/or international projects at senior level;
• Extensive experience (at least 5 years) with projects related to renewable energy;
• Effective interpersonal and negotiation skills proven through successful interactions with all levels of project stakeholder groups, including senior government officials, financial sectors, private entrepreneurs, technical groups and communities;
• Prepared to stay in Northern Thailand (Mae Hong Son) for long periods of time, with short visits to Bangkok;
• Knowledgeable about Thailand renewable energy policies, its industries and administrative structures. Related knowledge at the provincial/local level is a plus.
• Familiar with UN-funded technical assistance projects and GEF/UNDP projects in Thailand is preferred;
• Highly self-motivated, with good leadership skills;
• Excellent communication, leadership, problem solving and analytical skills;
• Excellent command in English and Thai.

1. Proactively coordinating projects and acting as central point of contact for the project team including technical experts, contractual services, project partners both at central and provincial level.
2. Develops and maintains a detailed project schedule which includes administrative tasks and all sites involved in the project.
3. Assist project manager in creating and executing project work plan and recommend subsequent changes according to project committee and board
4. Assist project manager in estimating the resources needed to achieve project outcomes
5. Develop reports including financial report and other deliverables as assigned by the Project Manager.
6. Coordinate meetings, including travel arrangements and expense reports.

The 5 year-project Thailand conducts in collaboration with other countries in Asia to implement development in products regulated for energy efficiency standards. The project implementation covers preparing policy papers, enhancing capacity of government and private sectors, and carrying out pilot activities for the above sectors, etc.

• Prepare policy papers in English about strategies, standards, regulations and labels used in promoting energy saving based on primary and secondary data as well as interview data with supports provided from experts in related agencies
• Implement the project effectively against work plan and budget plan;
• Prepare progress report in English for every 3 months;
• Participate in meetings with the project board every 6 months and with advisory teams every 6 months and prepare the meeting reports in Thai;
• Coordinate with implementing partners, both in national and international levels

Requirements:

1. Hold a Master's or Ph.D. Degree in engineering, energy economics, energy management science or other related fields;
2. At least 3-year of research experience in an energy policy related field, and able to prepare analysis reports for energy efficiency;
3. Excellent report writing and communication skills in English;
4. Experience in working with multi-partner project and good inter-personal skill;
5. Be reliable, punctual and able to work to tight deadlines

Qualifications :

1. Hold a Master's Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering or other related field
2. Study from an English speaking country is required.
3. At least 3-years research experiences.
4. Excellent Thai and English research report writing skill is a must.
