The teamwork of Stop Global Warming project of Thailand Environment Institute, led by Dr. Chamniern Vorratnchaiphan, visited Ban Kapae Gortor school in Betong district, Yala province during 19-20 January 2009 to monitor its progress in implementing Stop Global Warming project.
During the visit, the
students presented their creative activities contributing to global warming mitigation as part of the project, which centered around the concept of 3 Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. As Betong is the southernmost point of Thailand sharing the border with Malaysia , the activities of the students of Ban Kapae Gortor school reflected multi-ethnic cultural aspects. The Institute's teamwork also held an informal forum to share knowledge about global warming and climate change with 200 students from Ban Kapae Gortor school and other 4 schools within Betong municipality. Dr. Chamniern, meanwhile, discussed with administrators and teachers of 5 schools, Betong mayor and municipal officials,, including local community and religious leaders about the approach to strengthen the project.
Stop Global Warming is a collaborative project between Thailand Environment Institute and Toyota Motor Thailand.
