On Mar 5th-7th, 2009, Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD) in associate with Thailand Environment Institute (TEI) held the first Learning Together in 2009.  The event set to take 27 TBCSD members and 50 presses learn and visit to corporate social responsibility projects and to renovate a study room to be a learning center for Ban Noan Saluay School, Pookheaw district, Chaiyapoom province. 

Dr. Qwanruedee Chotichanathawewong, assistant president of TEI and executive director of TBCSD, said that TBCSD arranged learning activity among members for disseminating CSR activities of each company. Today activity was begun at the factory of Siam City Cement Public Company Limited to study energy generation from waste in cement production and waste heat recovery from cement melting chamber for electricity generation. Moreover, the group visited a training center of Krungthai Bank Public Company Limited, which won the gold prize award (national level) and the silver prize award (ASEAN level) for energy conservation building. Then, the group visit Mitrphol park to see the park’s activities. The Mitrphol park utilized all part of sugar cane beginning with sugar production, use of bagasse to generate electricity and to produce plywood and conversion of molasses to ethanol. These activities can reduce amount of waste and can preserve the environment.     

“TBCSD sees the importance of education in outreach areas, including cultivation of environmental conservation to the heart of youth. The environmental awareness activities on global warming and natural resources conservation were set up by Eco-friend team for students. Accordingly, TBCSD members renovate a study room to be a learning center and donate school supplies and funds for Noan Saluay school”

Thailand Business Council for Sustainable Development (TBCSD) was established in 1993 by Mr. Anand Panyarachun, the first chairman of TBCSD. Presently, Dr. Anusorn Sangnimnuan, the president of Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Limited is the chairman.

The organization aims to empower business sector to run business to gather with taking responsibilities for the society and environment leading towards sustainable development.

 

เมื่อวันที่ 5-7 มีนาคม 2552 คณะกรรมการนักธุรกิจเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อมไทย ( TBCSD ) ร่วมกับสถาบันสิ่งแวดล้อมไทย ( TEI ) จัดกิจกรรมเรียนรู้ไปด้วยกัน ครั้งที่ 1/2552 โดยนำผู้แทนจาก 27 องค์กรสมาชิกธุรกิจชั้นนำของประเทศและคณะสื่อมวลชน จำนวนกว่า 50 คน เยี่ยมชมการดำเนินงานโครงการธุรกิจที่รับผิดชอบต่อสังคม หรือ CSR และร่วมปรับปรุงห้องเรียนพร้อมมอบศูนย์การเรียนให้กับโรงเรียนบ้านโนนสลวย อำเภอภูเขียว จังหวัดชัยภูมิ

ดร. ขวัญฤดี โชติชนาทวีวงศ์ ผู้ช่วยประธานสถาบันสิ่งแวดล้อมไทย ในฐานะผู้อำนวยการบริหารคณะกรรมการนักธุรกิจเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อมไทย เปิดเผยว่า TBCSD ได้จัดกิจกรรมแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ระหว่างองค์กรสมาชิก เพื่อเผยแพร่กิจกรรมโครงการธุรกิจที่รับผิดชอบต่อสังคม ของแต่ละองค์กร โดยในครั้งนี้ได้ไปเยี่ยมชมการดำเนินงานของโรงงานปูนซีเมนต์นครหลวง จำกัด (มหาชน) ซึ่งมีการนำของเสียมาผลิตเป็นพลังงานทดแทนเพื่อใช้ในกระบวนซีเมนต์ และการนำความร้อนจากการเผาปูนซีเมนต์มาผลิตไฟฟ้า นอกจากนั้น ยังไปเยี่ยมชมศูนย์ฝึกอบรมธนาคาร กรุงไทย จำกัด (มหาชน) ซึ่งได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศของประเทศไทย และ รองชนะเลิศของอาเซียน ด้านอาคารอนุรักษ์พลังงาน และเยี่ยมชมการดำเนินงานกลุ่มอุทยานมิตรผล ซึ่งสามารถใช้ประโยชน์จากอ้อยได้ครบวงจร ตั้งแต่ผลิตน้ำตาล ใช้ชานอ้อยผลิตไฟฟ้า และไม้อัด ส่วนกากน้ำตาลผลิตเอทานอล ช่วยลดปริมาณของเสียให้น้อยลง ลดต้นทุนในการผลิตและรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อม

“TBCSD ได้เล็งเห็นความสำคัญในเรื่องการศึกษาของเยาวชนในพื้นที่ห่างไกลทุรกันดาร รวมทั้งการปลูกจิตสำนึกรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อม จึงได้จัดกิจกรรมนี้ขึ้นเพื่อให้เด็กได้เรียนรู้ปัญหาโลกร้อน และการช่วยกันอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ จากทีม Eco-friend พร้อมกันนี้ยังได้ร่วมกันปรับปรุงห้องเรียน และมอบศูนย์การเรียนรู้ให้กับโรงเรียนบ้านโนนสลวย โดยได้รับบริจาค อุปกรณ์การเรียน กีฬา ของใช้จำเป็น และทุนทรัพย์จากสมาชิก TBCSD”

คณะกรรมการนักธุรกิจเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อมไทย 27 องค์กร ก่อตั้ง เมื่อปี 2536 โดยคุณอานันท์ ปันยารชุน เป็นประธานคณะกรรมการฯ คนแรก และปัจจุบัน ดร.อนุสรณ์ แสงนิ่มนวล กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บริษัท บางจากปิโตรเลียม จำกัด (มหาชน) เป็นประธานฯ

มีเป้าหมายการดำเนินงานเพื่อให้สมาชิกภาคธุรกิจได้ขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาธุรกิจ ควบคู่กับการพัฒนาสังคมและสิ่งแวดล้อม อันจะนำไปสู่การพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน
