In April 2017, Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of Thailand, has signed the MOU: GEF/UNDP/PEMSEA Project on Scaling Up the Implementation of the Sustainable Development Strategy for the Sea of East Asia (SDS-SEA). Under this MOU, Thailand has agreed to prepare the national state of oceans and coasts report. This national report will then be presented to the East Asia Congress.

Objectives:

The National State of Oceans and Coasts (NSOC) Report of Thailand is prepared which focus primarily on oceans economy & ocean health, blue economy development in Thailand and its innovations as well as opportunities of investments, as template of report outline for all PEMSEA member countries. This report presents a comprehensive picture of state of oceans and coasts, the blue economy development in the SEA region including the implementation of other international conventions and agreements. The data and information presented in this report are no later than 2015.

28 March 2017 – 31 December 2018
