The first meeting of the SUCCESS project implementing partners to discuss strategic plans

24 Feb 2020 – A meeting between SUCCESS project team from TEI, led by Dr Pakamas, and CSNM team, led by Dr Buapun, to brainstorm and discuss strategic plans to engage with local CSOs, capacity building and training programme for local CSOs, develop Northeast regional and local Theory of Change and monitoring and evaluation framework, and identify key local policy actors and multi-stakeholders. The SUCCESS project team, SCF and TEI, visited and met with key local stakeholders in Songkhla and Satun

19 Feb 2020 – Songkhla Community Foundation (SCF) and Thailand Environment Institute Foundation (TEI) visited two municipalities; Patong Municipality in Patong Sub-district, located in Hat Yai District, and Padang Besar Municipality in Sadao District. In both meetings, SCF and TEI introduced SUCCESS project, led by Dr Pakamas, and discussed key urban challenges, climate impacts and disaster risks with political leaders, including Deputy Mayor, state actors, including City Clerk and Sub-district Head, and their representatives of local civil society and community-based organisations. The main purpose of the meetings was to explore potential opportunities for collaboration and engagement under the project. Both municipalities, together with local CSO representatives expressed great interests and were keen to participate in the Shared Learning Dialogues, which will take place in Project Year 1. 20 Feb 2020 – Songkhla Community Foundation (SCF) and Thailand Environment Institute Foundation (TEI) had a meeting with Satun Municipality to engage with key decision-makers, including Deputy Mayor, City Clerk, and Head of Public Works, as well as representatives of local civil society organisations, under SUCCESS project, led by Dr Pakamas. The meeting was to introduce SUCCESS project and discuss possible participation in dialogues in urban and climate change challenges and capacity building activities of the project. The first Academics Meeting in the South organised by the SUCCESS Project

18 Feb 2020 – Songkhla Community Foundation (SCF) and Thailand Environment Institute Foundation (TEI) collaborated under SUCCESS project, led by Dr Pakamas, to coordinate and organise a first Academics Meeting in Hat Yai, bringing together multi-disciplinary senior academics and researchers from 6 different universities in the lower South. The objective of the meeting was to explore and discuss possible collaboration and engagement opportunities on practical research and learning, focusing on vulnerability assessment, urban climate governance and building urban climate resilience. The aim was to build a network of multi-disciplinary academics and researchers to address challenges in urban, climate change, disaster preparedness, social vulnerability and urban climate governance. In the meeting, the participating academics agreed on future collaboration, regular communication and taking part in vulnerability assessment. (SUCCESS project is funded by the European Union)

The first meeting of the SUCCESS project with National Advisory Committees

On 18th November 2019, The SUCCESS project, funded by the European Union (Strengthening urban climate governance for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable societies in Thailand project) is officially starting in November 2019. This 5-year project, led by Dr Pakamas Thinphanga. The first meeting between Thailand Environment Institute (TEI) and the National Advisory Committees of the SUCCESS project to discuss various the important topics and issues including the strategic plans of the project in the next five years.

On 11th -14Th  November 2019,  The first meetings of the SUCCESS project, funded by the European Union (Strengthening urban climate governance for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable societies in Thailand project) between the Thailand Environment Institute (TEI), and the implementing partners, Songkhla Community Foundation (SCF) and Centre for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM), aim to discuss the scope and set up project management and administration for the implementation in both regions for the next five years.
